Charities


Little Prince Lodge #79 supports 3 main charities throughout the year. These charities are funded by various functions and undertakings of the lodge and it's membership. An annual pancake breakfast is held with 100% of the proceeds being giving to the Special Olympics, The Heart Fund, and Relay for Life.


Special Olympics is funded by Little Prince Lodge 79 with a annual pancake breakfast held in March.

The breakfast is held at the First Christian Church at 3rd Street and Grant Avenues in Moundsville. This breakfast is well attended and includes a drawing for a 50/50 raffle.

Lodge members also work at the local Special Olympic events. Members have assisted in presenting awards and serving snacks to the particpants and volunteers.


Relay for Life is funded by Little Prince Lodge 79 through money generated by the annual pancake breakfast. Little Prince Lodge 79 also participates in the Relay for Life event held at the John Marshall Monarch football stadium during the summer. The team is lead by PCC Earl Shaw Jr. Members sign up for the event and donate as a team and as individuals. Team Knights of Pythias will usually consist of up to 20 members.



The American Heart Association receives funds from Little Prince Lodge 79 generated from proceeds of the annual pancake breakfast.



Little Prince lodge 79 recognizes boy scouts that have attained Eagle Scout honors. Each eagle scout is given a certificate of noted achievement from the Supreme Lodge through the sponsorship of Little Prince Lodge.


In addition to the above described charities, members of the Little Prince Lodge 79 also periodically take up collections among it's members to provide gift certificates for meals for needy families during the Christmas holidays
